„Acting through Games“

International training course for youth workers from the EU and EECA countries

06-14 April, 2013

Costesti, Republic of Moldova

International training course „Acting through Games“ had participants from The Czech Republic, Poland, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Greece, Estonia, Latvia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Romania, Turkey and Armenia and there were 23 participants at all. Host organisation was ADVIT realizing many projects in Moldova.

Training course took place in Costesti, the small city about 23 km away from Chisinau. We stayed in nice and cosy hotel in the touristic complex situated on the lake shore a little bit distantly from the city. Hotel had two or three-beds rooms with own bathroom and lavatory, there also were a training room and a dining room.

Our programme was divided in some parts. It started after breakfast at 10:00 o’clock and the 1st part ended at 13:00 o’clock. Then was lunch and 2-hour pause for having a rest. The 2nd part continued from 15:00 o’clock till 19:00 o’clock. After our programme there was dinner and each evening was closed by “Intercultural Evening” during which participants represented their countries with short PowerPoint presentation, traditional food, drinks and customs.

The main goal of the training was familiarization with DEBRIEFING as a method of questioning participants after an activity in order to facilitate the ‘experience’ becoming ‘learning’. This to get to know if our activity has desired affects. During the week we acquainted with many debriefing techniques through playing very interesting and funny games and various activities. The whole week was interwoven with many activation games (f. e. teambuilding activities, secret missions, energizer games and much more J) and lectures on topics related with debriefing and Youth in Action Programmes.

We also visited the capital Chisinau for one whole day. There we saw the local institution “Consiliul National al Tineretului din Moldova”, played recognition game and had dinner.

At the end of the week we evaluated the past time and obtained the Certificate – Youth Pass and CD with photos and discussion themes.

Big thanks for all organisers to did very good job! Through this action we got know many interesting games, techniques, activities and gained new information. We also met new friends and tried a little from their cultures.
