Project report:

The main goal of project was gaining competences via youth initiatives and presenting to us young people who were able to find their job or start their own business due to experiences from organising youth projects and networking.

The project took place in the third biggest town in Slovenia – Celje, population around 40 000 inhabitants. Kateřina and I decided to travel to Celje by train and because we had to change the train 5 times during the journey, we had plenty of time to get to know each other and also stations in Austria and Slovenia.

We stayed in a nice MCC hostel with cafeteria and youth centre where also our training took place. This hostel was something like the main centre of youth activities in Celje and we had a chance to get to know a lot of amazing Slovenians.

What I really liked about the project was also a diversity of participants. We were a group of people from the Czech republic, Croatia, Austria, Malta, Latvia and Poland and of course Slovenia. Because our training was quite intense (making a project, preparation of budget, presentations etc.), we were happy to have free evenings and to make our own programme i.e intercultural night, tourch walk, concert, playing mafia etc etc. Our organisators were really friendly and also wanted to show us a bit of Slovenia so we had a trip to Ljubljana and we were sightseeing Celje.

To sum it up, this project was well-organised and prepared. We were not so lucky with the weather so we could not make more trips, but we had a great time and I met so many nice people and like one of the organizers said the purpose was to gain a new competences and I think that the purpose was fully met.
