Improvisation – the Key – Romania

Buna! Buna Romania! Welcome to the world full of improvisation, vampires, fun, and friendship. I was glad I could travel with two other Czech to Tirgu Neamt where we were discovering the world of improvisation method and the way how to use this method with work with disadvantaged youth. Firstly we were thinking about what is improvisation where and when we use and after we played with this method: 

theater improv – we did stand up comedy, words battle, storytelling

music improv – we tried to establish orchestra and use only instruments which we found a waste bin, brick, bottle of water,…

contact improv – modern dance when you are constantly in contact/touch with your partner

 

First days we did a lot of activities we got to know yourself and each other better and better and thanks, this we were able to create a wonderful team without any single mistake and cooperate quite easily. And this was important for the morning when we prepared some activities for children.

 

Moreover, we experienced quite a lot from Romanian unique culture – folk dances, special Romanian foods, and drinks. We had a lot of opportunities to explore the surroundings of Tirgu Neamt including the historical castle Neamț Citadel.

 

Considering it, all in all, this project had something extraordinary in itself. Everything was so calm, pretty and amazing, like somewhere in the dream and was so hard to say goodbye to people which were at the beginning only unknown and step by step they became friends. For all of us, this was only the beginning. Now, when we are back home and we are full of inspiration how we can use improv in our daily life and in working with youth and children.
