Project report:

Ciao! Our project took place in Italy (Montecchio Maggiore) between the 26th of July and the 3rd of August. We travelled there for a project called R.A.I.S.E. U.P. – ”Recycling Activities Inspiring Sustainability and Environment-care, through U-tube Promotion in a group of 6 Czech people. Apart from our Czech team, there were people from Spain, Estonia, Italy, Croatia and Poland.

At the beginning of the project, we were officially welcomed at the local municipality. On the first evening, we had an international dinner where everyone shared their traditional food, drinks and even some music, which was a lot of fun. At the end, we enjoyed the final party at the local market where we had a stall promoting our activities.

Apart from that, we visited a recycle center, enjoyed free afternoons in Verona and Vicenza and had a whole free day which we used for going to the beach, Lago di Garda Lake or to the mountains.

Even though we did not do many of the activities from the schedule, we managed to create a solar panel (which was surprisingly working) and shot a DIY video about that. A few times, we also played some quizzes related to healthy food, recycling and other funny stuff. During our project, we learned something more about the Italian culture (and drinking aperol all the time) and we also explored some new parts of this beautiful country.

While we did not learn much about ecology and video creation, we learned a lot about different cultures, languages and Italian country. If you want to travel to different places and learn something more about different cultures, a youth project is definitely the right thing for you to join.
