Project report:

Growing Up: Sustainable Tools for a Healthy Lifestyle

In memories of all the participants, October 2019 will forever be connected with the youth exchange on the topic of Sustainable tools for a healthy lifestyle. This project took place in Castellamare di Stabia, not far from the city of Naples in southern Italy, in the shadow of Vesuvius volcano.

We spent the very beginning of the project by visiting ruins of the ancient Roman city of Pompei where we had an opportunity to see result of a tragic explosion of the volcano that took place some 2000 years ago. Thanks to the project some of us also took time to explore nearby town Sorento and the biggest city in the area – Naples.

Regarding the main activities of the youth exchange, we learned many useful information about sustainable lifestyle. There were several workshops about nutrition and ideal composition of meal according to the Mediterranean diet. Other workshops taught us how to grow food and create fertilizers without any added chemistry and in a sustainable way. A significant part of time was given into activities oriented on marketing to teach us how to select products that we buy and understand all the tricks that marketers use.

During our stay, we learned a lot about the cultures from Italian, Spanish, Greek and Danish participants, who presented their traditional food and dances during international evenings and had a taste of our own Czech culture as well. During these amazing few days we made a lot of friends from all around Europe and we took a great step forward in our self-development. An experience like this is priceless, unforgettable and unique to projects such as this one.
