Project report:

The “Mastering MOOCs” project was a week-long educational initiative designed to enhance the understanding and application of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) among participants from several European countries. The event was hosted in Targu-Jiu, Romania, providing an environment for cross-cultural collaboration and learning.

First of all, I would like to thank our organizers: Ciprian, Alexandra and Julia, who first provided us with a lot of information about MOOCs and then were very helpful in creating the individual MOOC courses. From the second day onwards, teams were randomly assigned to create MOOC courses on a drawn topic, e.g. Gamification, Education through Social Media, Entrepreneurship, etc.

The Mastering MOOCs project successfully achieved its objectives and participants gained valuable knowledge and skills related to online learning. I dare to say that all participants significantly improved their ability to use MOOCs either for learning or for effective teaching. By working in teams and discussing anything that could improve our team projects and then presenting each course, we also improved our English.

We also had the opportunity to experience Romanian culture, especially the vibrant atmosphere of the city. One of the local participants kindly showed us around the city. We explored most of the city and visited important sights. This experience allowed us to see the cultural differences of the city and the Romanian way of life.

The Mastering MOOCs project was an amazing experience that enriched participants with the knowledge needed to effectively use MOOCs for educational development. Also, meeting new people from different countries gave us the opportunity to make new contacts and create lasting friendships. And thanks to this cultural exchange, we gained a better understanding of global educational trends and inspiration for new ways to use online courses in different educational contexts.

I would like to thank the EYCB for making it possible for many people to participate in this inspiring project. Thanks to you I have gained valuable experience and made friendships with people from different countries. Your support has motivated me to develop further. Thank you to all those involved in making these great projects happen.
