Project report:
From November 17th to 23rd, 2024, I had the privilege to participate in the Erasmus+ training course Sustainability: Growing with Care held in Sofia, Bulgaria. This project brought together youth workers and NGO representatives from across Europe, aiming to equip them with practical tools and strategies to incorporate sustainability into their organizations.
The training course was designed to address the growing need for sustainable approaches in the dynamic field of youth work. Through a combination of interactive workshops, hands-on activities, and engaging discussions, we explored innovative ways to implement green practices and foster a mindset of responsibility towards sustainability. The sessions covered topics such as long-term sustainable strategies for NGOs, youth-centered program design tailored to specific needs, and non-formal methods of engaging young people. Additionally, we had the opportunity to deepen our understanding of European opportunities and their potential to empower youth work.
One of the most valuable aspects of the project was the cultural exchange and networking opportunities. Sharing experiences with participants from different countries not only broadened my perspective but also opened doors for potential future collaborations. This exchange of ideas and best practices enriched the experience and strengthened the outcomes of the training.
By the end of the week, I felt equipped with new skills and knowledge that I am eager to apply in my work. The project also inspired me to think more critically about how to integrate sustainability into both my personal and professional life. I am deeply grateful to EYCB for allowing me to take part in such a meaningful experience. Their dedication to creating impactful projects and providing opportunities for growth is truly exceptional. As always, participating in an EYCB project has left me feeling more confident, motivated, and committed to making a positive difference in my community.
