Project report:

The training course took place in Armenia – country situated at the crossroads between Europe and Asia. Neighbouring Transcaucasia at the north, Georgia and Azerbaijan in the east, while neighbouring Turkey on the west and Iran on the south. Venue of the training course was Dilijan. Amazing city, located in the northern Armenia – province of Tavush. Pretty close to such a historical places as monasteries Goshavank and Haghardzin or Sevan Lake.

Aims of the training course were to increase the participation of young people within community or society through improving coaching skills. During the whole week we were improving our skills in practicing new coaching tools, exploring new educational theories and working on our self-development. We were also focusing a lot on the mentoring methods and approach how to work with youth and keep them “up to the topic”. Also we were using outdoor activities for teambuilding and techniques for improvement of “trust” between participants which could be applied on youth. At the end of the project, we tried to work on following up projects participants could apply for. Several very interesting ideas came out from it.

I believe that it is essential to encourage young people, so that they can realise their capabilities and be actively involved within society. And this happened at the project itself and it also helped us to get further knowledge for our own self-development and how to work with young people.

I believe that through a number of hands-on activities we get new skills and competences related to youth empowerment and coaching. Even so, there was a issue of some viruses across participants, which made a work much harder and affected a programme. However, the organizers handled situation very well and even so we were more than satisfied with the programme and I, personally, feel really fulfilled after this training course.

To sum up, it was a great event and I am so happy I could take part in it. Thanks belong to every single person who took part in it!
