Project report:

Dzień dobry! Greetings from Poland. I want to tell you about my wonderful time at the project “Social Bridge” that took place from 1. July to 11.July in Wojnicz. There were six people from each country: Cyechia, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, Ukraine, Serbia, Latvia, Georgia, Turkey and Poland.

Even though there were so many of us, everyone got along and we created an awesome community. This was thanks to our amazing leaders Seweryn and Yoana who managed to create a beautiful atmosphere, it was also thanks to Mikolaj and Kacper who cared about our daily needs and helped organize everything.

In this project, we were dealing with social inclusion, exclusion, and discrimination. We were talking about the current situation regarding those topics in our countries, followed by a discussion on how to act against it. We also worked in groups on tasks that made us understand what prejudice is and how to fight it. Through this process, we improved our English and communication skills serving as a nice bonus.

To end our day, we had intercultural evenings, for us to relax from the serious topics. Each day two countries showed their culture. We tried many traditional dances and learned some new words, phrases, and traditions. And most importantly we had our traditional food and music.

Outside of the official program, we had plenty of time to do what we wanted to. In the afternoon we played sports or explored Wojnicz and at night we sat down by the fireplace cooked some food and played card games. We also got a chance to visit Kraków on a special travel day.

This project taught us a lot about various forms of discrimination. How to recognize them and how to address them. We could see similarities and differences between countries regarding social exclusion. For a lot of us, it was even a challenge to overcome the fear of public speaking and I think we all did a great job at improving that.

To sum it up, I believe this project was for a lot of us incredible and unforgettable experience. I would like to thank everyone who took part in this project for creating such beautiful memories.
