Project report:
The Green Horizon project took place in the picturesque Slovak town of Banská Štiavnica and focused on topics such as climate change, sustainability, and environmental protection. The program was very diverse – it included lectures, workshops, excursions, and group activities. Young people from various European countries participated, creating a diverse yet united group.
One of the main benefits for me was the opportunity to learn more about climate protection and sustainable solutions in practice. A highlight of the program was the excursion to the company Reneso, which specializes in ecological innovations. I was also very impressed by the lectures, especially the talk by Michal Vašečka, and I appreciated the playful and engaging approach to learning – it reminded me of the teaching style of John Amos Comenius.
In addition to the educational content, the project had a strong social aspect – I met many interesting people with whom I shared a similar sense of humor, despite coming from different backgrounds. One of my favorite moments was the trip to the Klinger reservoir, where we enjoyed a fun and relaxing afternoon in nature.
The organization of the project was excellent, and the group leaders were friendly and always ready to help. Overall, I consider the project to be very enriching – not only because of the new knowledge I gained, but also due to the unforgettable experiences, new connections, and inspiration for the future. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone who wants to learn new things, meet new people, and enjoy a meaningful escape from everyday life.
