Project report:
Hello from Romania! Between the 5th and 15th of May, I had the opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ project “From Bin to Green” in Sarata Monteoru and Buzau, Romania. The project brought together people from eight countries: Czech Republic, Greece, Italy, Spain, Lithuania, Latvia, Portugal and Romania, with five participants from each country.
The main aim of the project was to increase awareness about circular economy and sustainability through non-formal education and creative teamwork. During the exchange, we took part in many workshops focused on topics such as circular economy and fashion, food, climate change, consumerism and debates. One of the most interesting activities was the final workshop, where we created our own imaginary country, solved environmental and social problems and developed ideas for a more sustainable society.
Most of the activities were interactive and based on creativity, teamwork and communication. We also had outdoor activities where we photographed things connected with linear and circular economy and discussed how they influence everyday life. Through presentations, discussions and group work, we improved our English, critical thinking and cooperation skills.
Besides the educational part, the project was also a great cultural experience. Every country presented its traditions, food, music and dances during intercultural evenings. We had the chance to make new friendships, discover Romanian culture and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Sarata Monteoru and the city of Buzau.
To sum up, “From Bin to Green” was an unforgettable experience that helped us better understand sustainability and the importance of circular economy. The project showed us that even small actions can make a positive impact on the environment and inspired us to bring new ideas back to our local communities.
