Project report:

The Erasmus+ youth exchange project Planet Crafters took place in Skrzetuszevo, Poland, from 18th May to 27th May. The project brought together young people from six countries: Spain, Czechia, Poland, Romania, the Netherlands, and Hungary. Participants arrived on the first day in the evening and departed after breakfast on the final day.

The main goal of the project was to raise awareness about environmental issues, sustainability, and responsible everyday habits while promoting intercultural learning and cooperation. Through non-formal education methods, participants explored ecological topics in an engaging and practical way.

During the exchange, we took part in a wide variety of activities. We learned basic crocheting skills, participated in environmental knowledge quizzes, and completed creative challenges related to sustainability. One memorable activity involved creating a protective structure for an egg using only natural materials such as leaves, grass, and sticks, which was then tested by dropping it from the third floor. We also designed eco-friendly houses, prepared short theatre performances, painted, and worked in international teams to create short advertisements promoting ecological products.

The project also focused on teamwork, communication, and personal development. Participants took part in team-building games, group discussions, meditation sessions, and activities exploring the impact of corporations on the environment. Daily responsibilities were shared among participants through cooking, cleaning, and activity teams, allowing everyone to contribute to the smooth running of the project and develop a stronger sense of responsibility and cooperation.

One of the highlights of the exchange was the intercultural evenings. Each national team had the opportunity to present its culture through traditional food, music, games, dances, and presentations. The Czech team prepared svíčková, sweet dumplings, and organized a workshop about traditional Czech chlebíčky. Participants from other countries also introduced their cultures through various dishes, quizzes, games, and dance activities. These evenings helped create a welcoming atmosphere and allowed everyone to learn more about different traditions and lifestyles.

Beyond the educational activities, the project provided an excellent opportunity to build international friendships and exchange experiences with people from different cultural backgrounds. Living together for more than a week encouraged open communication, mutual understanding, and respect for diversity.

Overall, Planet Crafters was a valuable and inspiring experience that combined environmental education, cultural exchange, and personal growth. Participants left with new knowledge, practical skills, unforgettable memories, and friendships that will hopefully continue long after the project has ended.
