Project report:
Hello everyone! We’re the Czech team, and we’re buzzing with energy after our time at “ARTiculate Change” in Trnava, Slovakia (October 6th–15th)! It was an unforgettable journey alongside amazing friends from Slovakia, Romania, Turkey, and Hungary.
The training invited us to become artivists – individuals who use creativity to fight injustice, raise awareness, and spark transformation through visual arts, storytelling, performance, and intercultural collaboration.
-
- Through hands-on workshops, team missions, and collaborative art-making, we gained a profound understanding of how art serves as a tool for advocacy and social change.
- Apply artistic methods (e.g., visual arts, storytelling, performance) and design original creative advocacy projects.
- We learned to “tell powerful stories” through digital and performance-based mediums. By the end, each team had successfully designed and presented their own concrete creative advocacy project.
- Develop skills in storytelling, creative communication, and effective cross-cultural collaboration.
- We worked closely in diverse teams, engaging in gamification and a creative hackathon. We successfully learned how to engage audiences in public space and online and collaborate across cultures to create impactful artistic projects.
The project taught us that art is the most powerful, universal weapon for change. Everything felt inspired, pretty, and amazing! We came back with a huge toolkit and the conviction that every individual can make things better.
- We realized that, without regard to nationality, we face similar problems, and that shared creativity is the best way to find solutions. It was amazing to see our ideas blend with the unique approaches of our colleagues from Slovakia, Romania, Turkey, and Hungary.
- The greatest takeaway is learning how to effectively translate empathy into concrete creative action. We are bringing home a toolkit of methods for designing and implementing our own advocacy projects, which we are now eager to realize in the Czech context.
A big thank you to the organizers for the perfect preparation and inspiring content, as well as to all participants for sharing their stories and creativity. Projects like ARTiculate Change prove that international cooperation is essential for shaping a better future.
