Project report:
Hello! Welcome to the world of digital nomads and freelancers!
I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Hungary, near the beautiful Lake Balaton, with a group of four other enthusiastic Czechs at the start of November. We were thrilled to participate in the project “Digital Nomad and Freelancers” – a week-long adventure that started on the 29th of October and ended up on the 6th November. Our group included people from several countries: the Czech Republic, Romania, Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina and our facilitator Adam from host country, Hungary.
Thanks to the planning and ideas of our organizers, we quickly formed an idea how our week and everyday will look like. Through a variety of engaging activities, games and energizers we got to know each other and we built a strong, united team. We tackled topics like setting up a successful career, strengths of a good entrepreneur, self-assessment, building resilience, personality test, business ideas, time managment etc. In each activity, we shared ideas, discussed the challenges we faced, what we gained and primarily exchanged our visions of our future.
Our days were full with activities that not only enhanced our teamwork but also improved our skills. From “Shark Tank” pitch presentations to practical workshops, we practiced our English, improved our communication skills, and developed a stronger understanding of what it takes to be entrepreneurs. We even completed a personality test, the D.I.S.C., which helped us learn more about our work styles and how to adapt when collaborating remotely.
Outside of our main sessions, we were lucky to experience some Hungarian culture, tasting local food, enjoying beautiful sunsets over Lake Balaton and even practicing some basic Hungarian phrases. The stunning surrounding made our learning experience even more memorable, allowing us to work, chat and have fun in a inspiring environment.
All in all, this project was more than just a training – it was a journey into a new way of thinking about work and lifestyle. We left feeling more confident, skilled, and ready to take on our own freelance projects and digital journeys. The highlight of the experience was realizing that, while we come from different countries, we share similar goals and dreams. Now that we’re home, we’re excited to start applying what we learned and, hopefully, make a difference in our professional lives.
To sum it up, this project showed us the power of community, connection, and the importance of supporting each other on our journeys. We are grateful to everyone who made this experience possible and to all the incredible people we met along the way. Thank you for making this unforgettable adventure a reality!
