Project report:

Hello everyone!
The “Building Strong Communities” training course in Brežice, Slovenia, was a truly powerful and inspiring experience. 🌿 It focused not only on how to build and strengthen communities but also on developing ourselves as facilitators, youth workers, and community leaders.

In the beautiful surroundings near the Croatian border, we explored topics such as community culture, compassion, rituals, values, and what makes communities thrive. Through experiential learning and group reflection, we gained both practical tools and deeper insights into how to create safe, inclusive, and sustainable spaces.

The programme was well thought out – starting with connection-building, continuing with deeper thematic blocks, and finishing with action planning on how to apply what we learned back in our local contexts. One of the highlights for me was working with the Community Map, reflecting on the power of everyday rituals, and discovering how compassion can be a core value in any group or organisation.

Beyond the content itself, what made this training truly special was the atmosphere – open, supportive, and deeply human. I made valuable connections, gathered new ideas, and – most importantly – found motivation to continue working consciously and meaningfully with my own community.

I’m leaving this project not only with new knowledge and tools but also with a strong personal takeaway: communities don’t build themselves – they are shaped daily through our actions, values, and shared purpose.

A big thank you to Circus La Bulle for creating such a beautiful learning space, to all the inspiring participants, and to EYCB for making my participation possible. ❤️

I look forward to putting everything into practice – and I truly believe this is just the beginning of more impactful projects and collaborations ahead!
