Project report:
In March 2024, an Erasmus Youth Exchange convened in the heart of Bratislava, Slovakia, from the 20th to the 28th, to address one of the most pressing issues of our time: disinformation. With participants from diverse cultural backgrounds from Czechia, Poland, Slovakia, Romania and Hungary, this exchange provided a platform for collaborative learning, critical discourse, and innovative solutions to combat the proliferation of misleading information in the digital age. Through workshops, discussions, and hands-on activities, we explored the multifaceted nature of disinformation and its impact on society, while fostering cross-cultural understanding and solidarity.
On the first day we had workshops and activities to get to know each other more and we also had some discussions and debates about our views on social media. We also had some fun activities such as photoshopping each other’s photos to show how easily fake news can be created. During our last workshop we had to create something that could help our target audience, one that we could choose ourselves, differentiate between which news are fake and which are not.
On the 26th we had a free day where most people decided to go to Vienna since it’s only an hour and a half away from Bratislava. We had the whole day to walk around Vienna and see its most beautiful buildings, museums and galleries.
I believe that everyone left the erasmus happy knowing that their critical thinking improved, they made new friendships that will hopefully last and happy to share their newfound knowledge with their own communities back home.
I am very grateful for getting the opportunity to have been a part of this erasmus and I wish that more people could experience the beauty of an erasmus youth exchange.
