Project report:
From 11th to 18th March 2026, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ training course “Intercultural Learning in Youth Work” in Barcelona, Catalunya. The project brought together youth workers from multiple countries, creating a vibrant and diverse learning environment full of energy, ideas, and collaboration.
The course was excellently organized, combining theoretical input with hands-on activities, group work, and interactive workshops. We explored important topics such as identity, diversity, stereotypes, prejudice, discrimination, and power relations, while learning practical methods to create safe and inclusive spaces for young people. Every session was engaging, motivating, and full of opportunities to share personal experiences and learn from others.
During the training, we had many memorable experiences. I particularly enjoyed the interactive workshops, where we worked in international groups to design local youth projects promoting inclusion and intercultural learning. These exercises challenged us to think creatively, communicate effectively, and collaborate across cultures.
We also had the chance to experience Barcelona’s vibrant culture. Walking through the city, visiting landmarks, and exploring local food, markets, and public spaces brought the city to life. Group activities, team-building exercises, and fun evening events strengthened our connections and made learning even more enjoyable. These moments not only enriched the program but also created lasting memories and friendships.
The facilitators were inspiring, supportive, and approachable, fostering an atmosphere where everyone felt valued and motivated. Accommodation, meals, and logistics were excellent, allowing us to focus entirely on learning and engaging with the group.
Overall, this training course was an energizing and transformative experience. I gained knowledge, practical skills, and concrete tools to use in my work with young people. I left Barcelona inspired, with new ideas, strong professional connections, and a deeper belief in the power of intercultural learning to make a positive difference in our communities.
