Project report:
Are you passionate about ecological issues? Do you want to learn how to contribute to the prevention of global warming, or are you simply looking to relax and make new friends? If so, you should have attended the EcoWave training course in Svatý Jur.
Project Experience:
It has been a few days since I returned home from the project, but the memories remain
vivid, and I find myself longing to go back. Let me provide a detailed overview of my
experience.
The primary aim of this course was to educate participants on environmental sustainability and to empower them to take action. While this might not sound particularly exciting at first, let me assure you—it was nothing like a typical school setting. The program was thoughtfully divided into various sections, including presentations, group work, energizers, and a guest speaker presentation. By the end of the project, we were organized into small groups where we developed our own environmental campaigns. Working alongside more experienced participants allowed me to learn a great deal, and by the conclusion of the project, I felt empowered to initiate changes that could benefit the planet.
Cultural and Leisure Activities:
In addition to the structured learning, the project also included some fantastic cultural and leisure activities. We visited Bratislava, where we enjoyed a guided tour of the city, exploring its rich history and vibrant atmosphere. The trip was an excellent way to bond with fellow participants while gaining a deeper appreciation of Slovak culture.
In our free time, we went on hikes, discovering more of the natural beauty surrounding Svatý Jur. The serene landscapes and scenic trails provided the perfect backdrop for relaxation and reflection, further enhancing the overall experience of the project.
Highlights:
What I appreciated most about the entire project was the opportunity to network with people from diverse backgrounds. There were participants from Turkey, Romania, Armenia, Czech republic and also Slovakia. It was incredibly enriching to engage in conversations with participants from various cultures. One of the standout moments was the intercultural night, where each group presented their country. I learned a lot about different cultural backgrounds, sampled traditional foods and beverages, and we all danced together to famous songs, creating a wonderful atmosphere of unity and celebration.
Conclusion:
Overall, I found this project to be incredibly eye-opening. Despite our cultural differences, we were able to connect and work together toward a common goal. I made so many amazing friends and learned a great deal from them. If you are hesitant about participating in a project like this, my advice is clear: go for it! Once you start, you won´t be able to get enough of it.
