Project report:

After returning home from the Erasmus+ training course Into the Future 4, which took place in Osterholz-Scharmbeck near Bremen, Germany, I feel truly inspired and grateful for the experience. The project, hosted by the organization NaturKultur e.V., gathered youth workers and educators from several European countries(Czech republic, Spain, Romania, Germany, Croatia and Turkey) to explore and develop competencies based on the “Competence Model for Youth Workers” from European training strategy. The main focus was on designing educational programmes and facilitating group learning processes in international and intercultural contexts.

During the week-long programme, we took part in a wide variety of workshops, discussions, and interactive sessions. In the end we designed our own workshops in small international teams, organised them for each other and then got useful feedback and amazing advice from the trainers. These activities were designed to help us reflect on how young people learn and how we, as youth workers, can support that learning process in creative and inclusive ways.

The atmosphere of the project was very open and supportive. Even though participants came from different countries and backgrounds, we quickly formed a strong group connection. We also had opportunities to share our traditions, songs, and food during the intercultural evenings, which were full of energy, laughter, and cultural exchange.

Looking back, Into the Future 4 was not only about improving professional skills, but also about personal growth. I became more confident in speaking English, more aware of my own learning style, and more motivated to continue working with young people. I also made many new international friends.

The experience showed me of how powerful non-formal education can be when people from different cultures come together with an open mind and a shared goal.

One of the highlights of the week was a day trip to Bremen, where we explored the city’s historic centre and enjoyed its atmosphere. The visit offered a perfect balance to the educational programme and allowed us to connect as a group in a more informal setting.

Another unforgettable aspect of the project was the excellent food provided by Juraj and Artemis throughout the week — healthy, tasty, and diverse meals that reflected different cuisines and made everyone feel well cared for.

The venue, surrounded by nature, offered a peaceful environment perfect for learning and reflection. The trainers Andre, Lucía and Mirko were professional and supportive, always encouraging us.

Overall, Into the Future 4 was an unforgettable journey that helped me grow both personally and professionally. I am grateful to NaturKultur e.V. and EYCB for making this opportunity possible, and I look forward to applying everything I have learned in my future youth work activities.
