Project report:
Szia! (that means hi in Hungarian). On March 15th, I hopped on a train with five other amazing participants from Czechia and we were all set for an adventure and the longest train ride ever. Honestly, I couldn´t have asked for better travel buddies and team. After a long but fun train ride we met up with other participants from different countries in Budapest and then, we all got on a bus that took us to Enying, a small village in Hungary.
For the next nine days, we stayed at this beautiful ranch in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by horses, a lake, and the kind of nature you only see in movies. It felt like a dream, I would stay there for months…
The whole experience was part of PLANET POWER, Erasmus + youth exchange project. The project focused on environmental and ecological issues, with the main goal of creating something that would raise public awareness and inspire people to take care of our planet. It was so inspiring and I got way more out of it than I expected. The organizers were amazing, this experience wouldn´t be the same without them. There were loads of activities and let´s just say they definitely pushed me out of my comfort zone. But it was worth it. The best part? Everyone was so open-minded and welcoming. I definitely made friends I know I´ll keep for a lifetime.
Oh, and the dancing. We danced – A LOT. It didn´t matter if it was Just Dance or national dances from all over; we were moving pretty much 24/7. By the end of the week, I was exhausted, sore and didn´t even know what day it was, but I wouldn´t trade it for anything.
When I first signed up for this project, I didn´t really know what to expect. I was actually a bit nervous, especially because the age group of the other participants was a lot younger. But guess what? Everyone was amazing, and the whole experience turned out to be way better than I could have imagined. The PLANET POWER project opened my eyes to environmental issues and inspired me to be more mindful and proactive in protecting our planet.
If you´re looking for an adventure that´ll challenge you, make you laugh, and leave you with memories (and friends) for lifetime, youth exchange project is definitely for you. 100% recommend!
