Project report:
Can a game change the way we look at the world? After spending a week in the heart of Andalusia, I can confidently say: Yes, it can! From April 22nd to April 28th, 2026, I traded my desk at home for the sun-drenched town of Mollina near Malaga. Together with another amazing Czech participant Luci, I joined a community of thinkers and changemakers for the training course “Play and Go Green”. It wasn’t just a project… It was a journey that redefined my perspective on sustainability and connection.
United in Diversity
The project brought together young people from 11 different countries. This diversity was the heart of the project. We weren’t just listening to different accents… We were immersed in different backgrounds and entirely different ways of thinking.
This project was a powerful reminder of how incredible it is to live in a united Europe. Thanks to the European Union and the Erasmus+ programme, these bridges between nations are possible. It is a unique platform that allows us to realize that even if we come from different corners of the continent, our desire to protect our planet is the same. Discussing complex environmental issues with people from such diverse backgrounds was a beautiful challenge that proved that when we have the will to understand each other, no barrier is too high.
Innovation through Gamification
The main goal was to learn how to use games to address serious environmental issues, and we achieved this through incredibly creative methods. Under the expert guidance of our inspiring leaders, Juan and Magdalena, we explored how games can change the world. The highlight for me personally was definitely the “Alpha City” roleplay simulation. Stepping into the shoes of different stakeholders – from local farmers to politicians – taught me more about negotiation and empathy than any textbook ever could. We also pushed ourselves out of our comfort zones by pitching fictional eco-firms on stage, turning our “green” ideas into a vision for the future.
Spanish Soul and Connection
The program was perfectly balanced between learning and experiencing. Our trip to Córdoba was a perfect moment for networking and presenting our NGOs, where we could see how our work connects on a European level. And the food? Simply divine! We ended our journey with tables overflowing with traditional Spanish tapas, celebrating the bonds we had built. From the Intercultural Night to the late-night talks, every moment was filled with “real dopamine” and pure inspiration.
The Beginning of a New Chapter
Looking back on this journey, “Play and Go Green” was a 11/10 experience. This project was truly eye & door-opening for me in so many ways. I’ve learned that sustainability isn’t just about rules, but about creativity and cooperation. Mollina was an amazing chapter, but the real fun starts now. I’m heading home with a head full of ideas and I’m so ready to start using everything I’ve learned in practice!
If you are hesitating to step out of your comfort zone, just do it! Everything is up to us, and with projects like these, we can truly change the world. A huge thank you to the EU and to every single person who makes these dreams a reality!
