Project report:

Greetings from the heart of Transylvania! Our Erasmus+ training course From Rural to Plural: Training Course on Youth Policy Making and Media Advocacy took place between the 17th and 26th of January 2025 in lovely village of Simon-Bran, Romania. Participants from 13 different countries gathered to exchange knowledge, experiences, and ideas on improving the lives of young people in rural areas through effective policy-making and media advocacy.

From the very beginning, the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and determination. The carefully structured program allowed us to explore key challenges faced by youth in rural communities, such as limited access to education, employment opportunities, and social engagement. Through dynamic discussions, expert-led workshops, and interactive simulations, we gained valuable insights into the processes of youth policy development and the power of media in shaping public opinion.

One of the highlights of the training was the practical component, where we collaborated on designing advocacy campaigns aimed at empowering young people in rural areas. Working in multinational teams, we developed innovative strategies, combining traditional and digital media tools to reach a wider audience. This hands-on experience not only enhanced our teamwork and critical thinking skills but also gave us a sense of real impact and purpose.

Beyond the professional aspect, the project was also a cultural journey. We immersed ourselves in the rich traditions of Transylvania, tasted local cuisine, and explored the breathtaking landscapes surrounding Bran Castle. These moments of cultural exchange strengthened our bonds, proving once again that diversity is a source of strength and inspiration.

Reflecting on this experience, it is evident that From Rural to Plural was more than just a training course—it was a transformative journey. The knowledge, skills, and connections we gained will undoubtedly contribute to our future efforts in advocating for youth empowerment in our respective communities.

A huge thank you to every single person who made this project a success. Let’s keep working towards a future where every young person, regardless of where they live, has access to opportunities, growth, and a voice that matters!

With gratitude,

Evelína
