Project report:
Greetings everyone!
What comes to your mind when you think of Bulgaria? Sandy beaches along the Black Sea coast and your family vacation favourite spot?
We got the opportunity to experience the gem of the Balkan peninsula from a different perspective. 9 participants from Czechia, Greece, Turkey and Spain spent 9 sunny days on a training course called S. O. S. 3. The project covered the topic of first aid and safe learning environment and took place from the 2nd until the 11th of June in a lovely venue near Srednogorovo, a quaint village in the heart of Bulgaria.
The project kicked off with a fabulous welcome dinner, which was masterfully prepared by Krasimir. He prepared a variety of dishes from traditional Bulgarian cuisine for the entire duration of the training course, which was highly appreciated by everyone. National coffee breaks offered a fantastic chance to explore each other’s cultures.
To my surprise, the programme offered a wide range of activities, while still maintaining focus on the topic of first aid with a helping hand from trained professionals who helped us gain potentially life-saving knowledge through numerous sessions.
Marcin clarified the difference between non-formal and informal education, and we put our freshly gained insights into action by facilitating a workshop of our own for the rest of the group.
We had the privilege of taking part in the well-known Rose festival in Kazanlak. The atmosphere of the parade was indescribable. It’s a memory that will last a lifetime.
All in all, I’d like to thank Mariya, Atanas, Marcin and Krasimir for organizing the intense training course, all the participants for being open-minded and willing to act, and EYCB for guiding us on our journey!
