Project report:
This Erasmus+ project Step Up – Community Organising for youth workers took place in Révfülöp, Hungary, and brought together participants from five countries: the Czech Republic, Italy, Bulgaria, Moldova and Romania. The Czech Republic was represented by six participants. The project was held in a hotel that provided comfortable accommodation and a suitable environment for learning and cooperation. The organisation of the project was excellent. The facilitators were professional, supportive, and well prepared and they also participated in our games sometimes.
The main aim of the project was to introduce participants to the concept of community organising and to strengthen skills such as teamwork, communication, leadership, and active participation in society. The programme was based on non-formal education methods, which made learning interactive, practical, and engaging.
Throughout the project, participants took part in various activities, including workshops, group discussions, games, and team-building exercises. These activities helped us better understand how communities’ function and how individuals can contribute positively to community life. These sessions were well structured, balanced, and supported active participation from everyone.
An important part of the project was cultural exchange. Participants had the opportunity to meet people from different countries, learn about their cultures, and build new friendships. During a free day, one group went on a trip in the town where was the project, which allowed to relax, explore the local area, and strengthen relationships within the group. The second group of people went to explore Budapest. They tried traditional food and visited most of the sights.
In conclusion, the Erasmus+ project Step Up – Community Organising was a very educational and enriching experience. It helped participants develop important personal and social skills, gain international experience, and feel motivated to be more active in their communities.
