Project report:

Erasmus+ project “The Nightmare” took place from 7th to 18th September in the beautiful camp NISI in Raches Fthiotidos approximately three hours from Athens. In this TC participated people from Italy, Macedonia, Greece, Croatia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, and, of course, Czech Republic.

Even before our departure from our countries we understood that the name of this project – The Nightmare – was picked correctly. Because of massive floods we could not stay the first night in camp and organizers had to choose at the last minute new accommodation in Athens. Luckily, organizers managed this situation well and we at least could enjoy one more night in Athens and discover this beautiful city more.

Next day at 12 we finally boarded the bus and started our 3-hours long bus ride. In the afternoon we discovered how beautiful our camp and its surroundings are and some of us even managed to go swimming. After dinner we played some games to get to know each other.

On Saturday we started with an official program – the topic was Rapid Climate Change and all activities we did were connected with this topic. First two days we covered the more theoretical part of the project – we watched videos and had discussions. Following days we did more practical activities – we cleaned nearby beaches, planned our own sustainable city or learned how to cook sustainably.

Another important part of this project was planning a campaign that we are going to implement in our countries after this project. Every country had to make their own plan that we presented to others groups as well as make a banner that we will also use in our campaign.

Intercultural nights were also an important part of our evenings – every night one country presented their culture, dances, food and drinks. Every time I learned something new and I believe we all enjoyed this activity.

In this Training Course we also had quite a lot of free time which we mostly spent on the beach or exploring the city by bikes.

Even with many problems that we had to deal with (undrinkable water from taps so we had to buy from shops, not always perfect communication with organizers or delays with activities), I believe that we enjoyed this TC a lot and I am excited to join another E+ program in future.
