Project report:
I came to Rabka-Zdrój expecting a music project — I left feeling like I had lived through a once-in-a-lifetime story.
Thirty young people passionate about music from Italy, Spain, Poland, Hungary — including six of us from the Czech Republic — gathered under one roof with a simple mission: to explore the power of music to unite, inspire, and connect.
Over the course of the project, we divided into two bands and worked tirelessly to prepare a live concert in the center of Rabka. We rehearsed for hours each day, losing track of time as melodies, harmonies, and laughter filled the villa. In between rehearsals, we learned how to write our own lyrics and reflected deeply on the theme of UNITY — not just as a concept, but as a feeling we were actively creating through every note we played.
Kami gently helped us tap into our creative side and encouraged us to experiment without fear. Fabio, our charismatic facilitator, made sure everything ran smoothly and turned even the stressful moments into joy. Thanks to them, chaos often felt like magic — the kind that only happens when you lock 30 musicians in one house and give them the freedom to create.
Although our dream outdoor concert was cancelled due to bad weather, we didn’t let it dampen our spirits. In fact, the last two days of the project were among the most powerful: we composed our own original songs from scratch — and then recorded them. It wasn’t easy (recording never is!), but somehow, through sweat, nerves, and endless retakes, we did it. Soon, the songs created by both bands will be available on streaming platforms… proof that unity can be heard in more than one language.
Evenings were just as magical as the days – nobody wanted to go to bed to miss a single second of this project. During intercultural nights, we tasted the very best of Poland, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, and Hungary — and our conversations drifted seamlessly between food, culture, and music. By then, it didn’t matter where we were from. Music had already become our common mother tongue.
Some of the musicians I met blew me away so much that I had goosebumps the first time I heard their songs — and I truly believe I witnessed future stars being born. Many melodies are still stuck in my head — and honestly, I hope they stay there forever. Because behind every lyric and every beat were the people who made them come alive. People who were strangers only days before, now forever stitched into my heart. Erasmus+ didn’t just give us a project — it gave us a stage, a family, and memories that will echo long after the final chord fades.
I will never forget Music 4Unity.
Trading melodies for memories, always.
