Project report: Enhance Collaboration with Volunteerism

Merhaba! Welcome to Istanbul, Turkey. That’s what we’ve heard when me and Tereza arrived there 24th of November. We participated in a training course, which took place between 26th of November and 4th of December in Kilyos, Istanbul. There were totally 12 countries with different number of participants.

This project was called Enhance collaboration with Volunteerism and it was focused on volunteering, mostly on European Union programmes. The hosting organization was TAV and the main organizers were Büşra Karakuş and Mehmet Çetinkaya as our trainer.

First day of training we were preparing the schedule for the week all together. We were learning about volunteerism in general, Erasmus+ opportunities for volunteers and for NGOs, some legal aspects of projects, HR and mentorship in volunteering and we also went through crisis management and online tools for volunteering organizations. In the middle of the week we had one free day, so we could explore the beautiful city of Istanbul.

Most of the time we were having lectures about each topic and later we were working in different groups on specific parts in that topic. Between the sessions we usually had small energizers. In the end the training went so fast, we came to end. We met with interesting people from all over the world and we could share out experience and gain some inspiration from the others.
