Project report:

From August 7th to August 14th, a group of five participants from the Czech Republic participated at the Erasmus+ training course titled “Training of Youth Workers: Into the Future.” This course aimed to provide a space to explore best-case practices, improve youth work competences, and create long-lasting partnerships based on the ETS Competence Model for Youth Workers. The training offered valuable learning environments and experiences for young professional (or future professional) youth workers, focusing on enhancing their skills and knowledge.

During the course, we had the opportunity to meet and collaborate with participants from North Macedonia, Greece, Estonia, and Germany. This diverse group enriched our experience and allowed us to gain insights from different cultural perspectives.
The project was divided into two main parts. In the first part, we learned about youth competencies, with a particular focus on meaningful communication and designing programmes. One of my favorite sessions was on non-violent communication, which we explored both theoretically and practically. This session was particularly impactful as it provided us with tools to communicate more effectively and empathetically.

In the second half of the project, we worked in small groups to create and facilitate our own workshops. This hands-on experience was invaluable as it allowed us to apply what we had learned in a real-world setting. Throughout the entire project, a safe space was maintained, fostering an environment of trust and mutual respect. Together, we created beautiful moments that I will never forget.

Overall, the “Training of Youth Workers: Into the Future” course was an enriching and transformative experience. It not only enhanced our professional skills but also built strong connections with fellow youth workers from across Europe. I am grateful for the opportunity to have been a part of this journey.
