Project report:
A group of young people from 10 different countries met in Ganja, Azerbaijan. During the training course “Keys to Social Cohesion – Citizenship Education in Youth Work” the participants from Azerbaijan, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Moldova, Poland, Romania and Ukraine discussed the principles of youth work and social inclusion. With the support of two amazing facilitators from Germany and U.S. the youth workers discovered a vast number of different methods and approaches to social inclusion. We also shared the experience we had within the field of youth work and non-formal education with each other. We had very interesting discussions during the week about what citizenship and the Europe means for each of us as well.
During the week all the participants had the chance to cooperate with local students and to have a talk about European Youth Capital, which is the title that’s going to be awarded to Ganja in 2016. Together, we drafted a list of proposals and ideas that can improve the city of Ganja, its facilities and youth-friendly services. Afterwards the report was presented at a conference to local authorities. The organizers from “Bridge to the Future“ Youth Public Union did their best to contribute to a friendly environment and support the participants during the training, too.
