Project report:

“Kalimera” – meaning good morning – was the word we heard every day during our stay in Greece, and it stuck in my head ever since. I, along with four other participants from the Czech Republic, took part in a youth exchange project in the beautiful coastal town of Selianitika, Greece. Altogether, there were around 30 participants from six different countries: the Czech Republic, Portugal, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania, and the hosting country, Greece.

The project, titled “RESCCONNECT,” focused on fostering diversity and inclusion practices and contributing to the advancement of equal opportunities in the workplace and raising awareness among people. Through a variety of engaging activities, we learned about the concept of the circular economy – both in the Czech Republic and in other participating countries.

In our national teams, we discussed different local solutions, and it was really interesting to see how differently circular economy principles are applied even within one country. Some of the activities were more individual and required us to present our ideas in front of others. This helped many of us step out of our comfort zones, which wasn’t always easy at the beginning – but it was incredibly rewarding and educational.

The hosting organization KEAN, led by Alexander and Nikoleta, was absolutely amazing. They supported us throughout the whole project and were always ready to help whenever we needed anything.

We were accommodated in a lovely hotel with the beach right outside the door. Most of the time, we enjoyed delicious Greek food, and we also had free time to explore the area or relax however we liked.

I’m truly grateful for the opportunity to be part of this project, and I would highly recommend this kind of experience to everyone.

A big thank you to EYCB for making it possible and for continuing to offer such unforgettable projects. I always return with beautiful memories and new friendships.
