Project report:
At the turn of August and September, I had the opportunity to take part in a unique international course held in the Bulgarian town of Tryavna. The project, titled My Tools, Your Tools, Our Tools, was special thanks to the diversity of participants – there were 16 of us from 13 countries across three continents. Most of the participants came from outside the European Union. Interestingly, except for Georgia and Morocco, each country was represented by just one participant. This gave everyone the chance to present their own experiences, approaches, and tools used in different contexts.
The main goal of the course was to share know-how and create a joint outcome – a website with a manual that can serve as inspiration for teachers, organizers, and trainers. The website includes an overview of recommended applications and online tools that can be used in areas such as education, language teaching, or project organization. For each application, there is a detailed guide: how to install it, what it is used for, how to work with it, and comparisons with other alternatives.
This goal was achieved thanks to teamwork – after joint discussions, we divided into pairs according to our specializations and worked intensively for four days on creating both the manual and the website.
The first days were dedicated to teambuilding – we played various ice-breaking games, explored the surroundings, and visited the town of Tryavna. Because of the weather, on the fourth day we took a full-day train trip to the Bulgarian mountains and ended the day relaxing by the pool. From the fifth day, the weather worsened, so we fully immersed ourselves in working on the project. The course atmosphere was enriched by cultural evenings, during which participants presented their countries, traditions, and typical foods.
The project meant a significant professional and personal step forward for me. I gained access to new tools and applications that I can use in practice, and most importantly, I experienced working in an international team made up of experts from different fields. I was also inspired by the chance to share experiences with people working in very different conditions and to find common ways of using technology effectively.
For me, the course in Tryavna was above all a cultural and human experience. I brought back new friendships and motivation to keep developing myself and continue working on projects. I am proud that we managed to create something that can serve and inspire others around the world.
