Project report:
Bonjour!
From 17th March to 28th March we had opportunity to be part of Erasmus+ training course “Slow Down: Let’s Tackle Fast Fashion Together” which took place in beautiful French village Saint-Lizier near Toulousse. There was total of 24 people from 8 countries (Czechia, Slovakia, Bulgaria, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy and Germany).
At the very start of our project, we went into a second-hand shop where they gave us the full behind scenes tour of how all kinds of products and clothes get a second chance at life.
Then we watched very heartbreaking and eye opening documentary about fast-fashion. Afterwards we had discussions with eachother and activities about this topic, which gave us more opinions.
After that we headed to the little village Alan for a cultural event with the local seniors. Even though there was a big age gap between us, we had an absolute fun! We laughed, danced, and also talked with them about our project.
On our day off, we went hiking to a nearby village and were rewarded with jaw-dropping views of the Pyrenees. Seriously, the view was so stunning it made all the uphill walking totally worth it. Also on the way back we came across with mountain cows and donkeys.
My favorite day was wool day with Susana. Firstly we started carding the wool and spinning it with the spindles by traditional way. At the second part of that day we learned how to make felt by technique with hot water and soap. We made very cool and unique arts.
The second half of the project was all about getting more craftier. We learned how to sew our projects and put together our own fashion show right on the Rue du Pont Vieux bridge. It was amazing experience to show to the locals our project while doing our runway.
Through this project we did daily tasks (cooking, cleaning toilets, cleaning dishes,…) and also emotional circles, where we could express how we felt.
This project taught us tons of practical skills, gave us loads of unforgettable experiences, and best of all, helped us make some new friends.
