Project report:

From 13 May to 22 May 2026, we participated in the international training course Empowering Rights Enabling Change in Antalya, Türkiye. The project focused on human rights, democracy, active citizenship, and intercultural understanding among young people from different countries.

The project started with ice-breaking and team-building activities that helped us get to know each other and create a friendly atmosphere. We also shared our expectations, fears, and contributions, and together we created group rules to make everyone feel comfortable and respected.

During the first part of the project, we discussed democracy and different types of governments. We learned about democratic and authoritarian systems and talked about how political systems influence society and people’s everyday lives. Many activities were interactive and included group discussions, teamwork, and simulations.

The second part focused mainly on human rights and active citizenship. We shared opinions and experiences from our countries and discussed topics such as freedom of speech, equality, and participation in society. One of the most interesting activities was an election simulation, where some participants became candidates and others voters or advisors. It helped us better understand democratic processes in a practical and fun way.

We also created and presented our own workshops in international groups. This activity improved our teamwork, communication, and presentation skills.

Besides the educational activities, we also had time to enjoy the local environment and spend time together informally. We went on a boat trip around Kemer and spent time relaxing at the beach, which was a great opportunity to connect with other participants and experience Turkish culture.

Overall, the project was a very meaningful experience for us. We gained new knowledge about democracy, human rights, and active citizenship, while also improving our teamwork and communication skills. We also had the chance to meet inspiring people from different countries, exchange ideas, and build new international friendships.
