Project report:
The project “Youth empowerment for change” took place in Dilijan in Armenia between 8. and 16. of October 2016. The group of participants consisted of two people from each contained country: Armenia, Albania, Belarus, Czech Republic, Georgia, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Serbia, Spain and Ukraine.
The aim of the project was Youth Empowerment and Social Transformation. During nine days we learned a lot about a process of social transformation and tools of doing that and for motivating people. Under the leadership of two leaders – Sebastian and Izrael we went step by step from the basic idea of the most important problem in our country to the final plan of concrete activities. But it was long way. We tried to identify reasons of the problem, create a pathway to the goal and all of that thanks to non-formal education and tools for change.
Our days were fulfilled by games, workshops, discussions, watching videos or presenting ideas and every single activity was the part of the goal of the whole project. Now we know how to think about social movements and how to prepare the whole process of social change. We are able to use it in our everyday work in NGOs.
Interesting part of the project was of course trip to two old monasteries nearby and a lot of personal discussions about foreign countries etc. New personal contacts will be also useful for us in the future activities. Of course Caucasus countryside, cities and people were unforgettable experience for me and I can recommend Armenia to everybody!
