Project report:

At the 24th of February czech team attended project in calm village of Romania, Bran. Acting for Change: Theatre and Film as Tools for Rural Youth Work was a project of 13 fulfilling days through and out.

Name of this project speaks for itself, but don´t get the wrong impression. Here in Romania we were not just spectators. We were so lucky and we had the opportunity to step into the roles of creators, such as camera operators, scriptwriters, actors, or members of the creative team. Even though many of us, including myself, had little or no previous experience in this field, it did not matter at all. Those with more experience and confidence were very supportive and helped the rest of us, which created an environment where everyone could contribute.

Thanks to amazing and very talented facilitator Iza and others, we had the access to many film making tools, which made us more aware about content creating sphere and many tips and personal advices that helped us grow in many ways. We experienced many difficult and model scenarios that opened our eyes. I cannot be more grateful for all those precious moments that we went through, we can use them in our future to make not just ourself better person, but help others as well.

I could speak for each one of us participants, that everyone was so eager to discover the diversity and variety of all countries. Despite of some differences we had among all 12 invited countries, we managed to unite as one. One of the most beautiful moments during this program was when we realised that we are the same, creative, open-minded, striving for better society for us to live in. From that moment, those people didn´t feel just like some foreigners from different countries, but one big family, where we felt safe along each other to not just perform like we were doing film / theatre acting for ages, but also share our emotions, vulnerabilities. It was something much more than just Theatre and Filming.

Big thanks also goes to hosting organization ADA and of wonderful EYCB, thank you so much for making this happening and giving us something nobody can ever take away from us, breathtaking moments that we will never forget.
Looking forward to the next adventure!
