Project report:

At the end of September, we arrived in Berlin just as autumn was beginning.  I felt very grateful to take part in the youth exchange Brave Minds, Brave  Futures, which focused on mental health, identity, and the role of art in  supporting emotional well-being.

In Berlin, we spent four wonderful days together with participants from Italy,  Poland, Lithuania, and Germany – the host country. During these four days,  we focused on the topics of well-being, mental health, and how art can help

us express emotions and understand ourselves better. Through various  workshops, discussions, and creative sessions, we learned to perceive art  in a deeper way and use it as a tool for self-reflection.

We practiced techniques that support well-being and reduce anxiety, such  as journaling and mindfulness exercises. These activities helped us sort our  thoughts and emotions. Together, we built an open-minded and safe space  where everyone could share their stories, support each other, and find  inspiration. We explored topics like gender based violence, politics, body  positivity, and harmful influencers, discussing both challenges and possible  solutions. We also learned more about the situations in other participating  countries and identifyed misinformation and verified facts.

One of the highlights of the project was the Youth Exchange Gallery  Exhibition, where we presented artworks created throughout the week.  Each piece reflected our inner experiences, emotions, and the lessons  learned during the exchange.

Berlin itself was the perfect place for such a project. The city is open minded and creative, full of diversity and inspiration. It allowed us to feel  truly free and authentic. Besides the main sessions, one in the morning and  one in the afternoon, there was also enough time to explore Berlin, enjoy its  culture, and get inspired by its atmosphere.

We would like thank to the organizers and facilitators, who were very kind,  helpful, and well-prepared. Their knowledge and activities helped us  understand the topic more deeply.

Overall, Brave Minds, Brave Futures was much more than just a youth  exchange. It reminded us that we are not alone in facing life’s challenges  and that we can always find support and inspiration from others.

We are sincerely thankful to the organizers and facilitators for their  thoughtful guidance, kindness, and professionalism, which made the whole  experience meaningful and unforgettable. A special thank-you goes  to EYCB for organizing the Czech participation and making it possible for us  to join such an inspiring project. The knowledge and experiences gained in  Berlin will help us in our personal growth and can be shared further in our  local communities.
