Project report:

Hi to everybody who is reading this. Czech team successfully came home from the project. It’s the perfect time to write a report. We enjoyed seven peaceful and sunny days in Portuguese city Figueira da Foz. The city is on the coast, so we had fun with freezing ocean and wide sand beaches. Despite the familiarity of the city, there were not many tourists, because we were there during the spring, specifically 22-29 of May. The Czech organization sent five participants to the project with the name Environmental Action. Daniela Kopecká, Karolína Straková, Tereza Nováková, Zuzana Zajícová and Roman Timothy Velc. These are the names of young people who want to make the Earth a better place to live. We worked together with people from Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Portugal and Armenia to achieve the same goal – create an awareness campaign about the importance of the oceans and how they should be preserved.

We’ve made an amazing collection of photos that people should pause to think about their own shortcomings that they can improve. We pointed out the importance of recycling, stopping food waste, the dangers of landfills close to water sources and so on.

In the name of the project is the action. That’s exactly what we did too. On the beach, we split into groups of three and collected garbage for several hours. We all had a good feeling about it. We took the overfilled bags to the containers. In my opinion, it’s a better place for waste than a fish’s stomach.

We visited the wonderful city of Coimbra. We made beautiful memories and tried Pastel de nata, a typical Portuguese delicacy.

I would love to thank our organization EYCB and the facilitators for this amazing experience and that they are trying to help students to travel abroad and visit new countries and see new people. Thank you so much for this opportunity!
