Project report:

We participated in the Youth Exchange programme GREEN-IT. The wonderful experience
lasted from the 18th to the 27th of June in the beautiful city of Conversano. We experienced a great community of people and made a lasting impact on the local Balconata. Every participant from Czechia, Serbia, Romania, and Italy left with a deeper knowledge of recycling and upcycling.

We raised awareness in the local community and participated in hands-on sessions. We
created new chairs and tables for the people of Conversano from eco-friendly materials. The fruits of our labor will serve the local community for many years to come. During our stay, we enjoyed wonderful Italian cuisine and experienced traditional Italian, Serbian, and Romanian weddings. These experiences deepened our cultural understanding and appreciation for diversity in Europe.

One of the highlights was a visit to Polignano, a beautiful coastal city with a rich cultural
history and a stunning beach. We also had the opportunity to visit Conversano and
Putignano, exploring local architecture that dates back to ancient Rome. We stayed in
Masseria Minoia, a small farm in the countryside with horses and olive trees.

The project was amazing for creating new bonds and friendships between participants. We discussed different ways to tackle problems like fast fashion, extensive car use, and plastic recycling. We even created our own carabiners from old plastic cups.

All of these experiences definitely left a lasting impact on us, and we are looking forward to more projects exploring similar problems. Thanks to EYCB for the opportunity to visit Italy and meet amazing people.
