Project report:

From June 1st to June 9th, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Erasmus+ training course “Hear Me Out” in the beautiful coastal town of Władysławowo, Poland. The main goal of this project was to explore how youth workers and educators can use storytelling and audio tools to bring out the absolute best in young people.

Throughout the intensive program, we delved deep into the methodology of narratives. We learned why storytelling is such a useful educational tool, how to use it effectively and ethically, and also when it might be better to approach educational challenges differently. The activities were carefully designed to foster empathy, enhance our communication capabilities, and train our voices for better delivery. We analyzed narrative structures and immediately put this theoretical knowledge into practice through hands-on audio recording sessions.

The learning environment was incredibly inspiring, largely thanks to the phenomenal team of participants representing the Czech Republic, Spain, Armenia, Ukraine, Italy, and Turkey. The group consisted mostly of teachers and education professionals. Everyone was exceptionally enthusiastic and proactive, making every collaborative task an absolute pleasure. I am transitioning into public education as a state school teacher this coming September, and I can confidently say I have achieved my personal goals for this project. I discovered exactly how these unique audio and storytelling instruments can help me in my everyday teaching to actively develop both the hard skills and soft skills of my future students.
