Project info:

The main aim of 8 – days training course Human Rights in Spotlight host by non-governmental organization Konstruktor was to raise participant’s awareness in the field of human rights and develop their competencies in advocacy for human rights education.

The first moments of the training course ‘Human Rights in Spotlight’ were full of ice breaking and team building activities that provided the participants an opportunity to get to know each other better.

First part of the course was mere theoretical. During the first days of the aktivity we had an opportunity to discuss issues connected with conflicts of human rights or the role of human rights educator. Moroever, during the first days we also had an opportunity to share with others presentations reflecting various human rights issues as rights of LGBT in Bulgaria, Roma in the Czech Republic, situation in prisons in Albania or refugees in Germany or in the Netherlands.

Second part of the programme was focused on advocacy and developing new projects. We have also visited two non-governmental organizations – centre for people with disability in Struga and centre for drug users and sexual workers. Both vistites were really interesting.

For me, personally, It was great to have possibility to meet so many different people there. This was my first time in the Balkans and it had been nice to discover this different culture and at the same time see similarities with your own. I really like the program, it was very varied and interactive. For me it has inspired me to take a new direction in my future studies. Before I came I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I like the way the course makes you get involved.
