Project report:
Buongiorno della Sardegna! In the end of august 6 people from the Czech Republic spent an amazing week together with people from Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia+ Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, Romania and Slovakia. In this crazy, friendly, cheerful and energetic group we learnt about exclusion and inclusion through sport thanks to creative activity.
The project was called. In Your Shoes- Youth exchange on Sport and Inclusion and took place in Cagliari, Sardinia. Immediately after our arrival we start getting to know each other and building a team. The organizers didn’t want it so easy for us so we had met not only other participants, but also many EVS volunteers from the hosting organisation. We started to work on the topic of the Youth Exchange right after we create the great team. Every national group had to prepare one learning section e.g. explanation of the exclusion/inclusion, examples of inclusion through sport and so on. Each group showed very creativity soul by the playful learning activity, which involved all people to active participation. Day of sport activities was scheduled too and we spent all morning by crazy warm-up activities, special run race, adaptation of tennis for more players and of course football.
We made a trip to the centre of Cagliari where the history breathes, literally. There are many nice historical buildings such as towers, castle, cathedral, churches, narrow streets in the city centre. Cagliari is located on the seacoast, so we also spent some time on the beach by playing basketball, “beach racket-ball” and of course swimming and sunbathing. We had the opportunity to visit local sport club of athletics, field hockey & artistic gymnastics as well. In the gymnasium for gymnastics we were allowed to practise on trampoline, vault, floor, beams, bars and high bar. We discovered that many members of our group are great skilled in sport field during the activities.
In the international evenings we tried to dance national and typical dances and taste the traditional sweets& candies, foods and drinks of participating countries.
To sum up we spent and unforgettable week full of energy, good mood and fun in amazing company. We got to know many new interesting people and create new friendships all around the world (also people from Latin America 😉 ) which will last long time.
In the end I would like to thanks for all Czech group to our sending organisation EYCB as well as to organisersTDM2000 International for the opportunity be a part of the project. Thank you very much and see you soon.
