Date: 17-27 June 2012

Venue: Daugirdiškės, LITHUANIA

No of pax: 4+1 GL

Project report:

This project took place in Daugirdiškes, a beautiful place in the countryside about 50 km away from Vilnius in Lithuania. The participating countries were: the Czech Republic, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Spain, and Turkey.
The topic was music in our lives. We had some activities associated with music e.g. presenting typical music or dance of our country on “festival” in Semeliškes and composing songs about our stay there and concert of teenage boys’ band. Bearing in mind that we had a lot of free time to get to know more other participants because the organization of this project wasnt the best one. Its a pity, really, because the draft of the program looked really great.
One of the best activities was intercultural evening, where each group presented their country and made or brought some special national food for tasting.
The most emotional moment was trip to SOS village, where live children that have no parents. They made an exposition for us of their paintings and drawings. We spent with them all afternoon watching the exposition and playing games with them.
We also visited capital of Lithuania- Vilnius and the beautiful city of Trakai. In Trakai there is a castle on an island in the middle of lake. People who were interested could visit the castle or just walk in the beautiful nature in the surroundings, rent a paddle boat or a rowing boat.
Despite the fact that the program wasnt exactly what we had expected we really enjoyed this project. We met lot of nice people and made new friends and gained new experiences.
