Project report:
Zdarvo (or hello in English). During the last week of January me and my newly gained Czech friends went to the town of Brežice in Slovenia, to participate in a training course „So Long And Thanks For All The Red Noses“.
The goal of this training was to explore the clown attitude and clown approach in youth work through various activities.
People of all ages from 10 different countries gathered here and spent an unforgettable 7 days together, during which we immersed ourselves in the topic of failure, improvisation, clowning, coping mechanisms, theater of the oppressed and many others. At the same time, we were able to try facilitating our own activity of our choice, I chose vocal cord hygiene, which is very often neglected among youth workers, and Lucie chose the topic of communication and what could happen during it. Needless to say, both activities were a success and a great experience.
Every activity was incorporated with youth work, training and in many cases emotions. The emotions have showcased in different ways from loud laughter to tears, but the connection created between all of the participants worked as an incredibly strong support system, and we all had a “shoulder to cry on”.
Experiencing this project left us all with strong emotions, but also new knowledge and strong beautiful friendships.
Huge thanks to EYCB, CIRKUS LA BULLE, all the participants and especially our Czech team. See you on the next project!
