Project report:

Merhaba! Welcome to Kayseri! Welcome to the world full of many experiences, fun, friendship, amazing places, trips and happy people who cares about other people and believe on world without wars. It was my pleasure to travel to Turkey with five other amazing Czech people on the 8th of August. We were really excited about the project “Pieces of Peace“ that ended on the 18th of August.

Thanks to the perfect organization of our leaders – Behlul, Omar and their team who made program that was full of new experiences. During a lot of trips we got to know each other better and thanks to group works, we were able to cooperate quite easily. We were dealing, for example with racism and xenofofia problems of each country, how we imagine the future of our countries, racism problems of our country, made ideas for new projects about xenofobical and racism problems. But this project was focused more about trips and experiences than the topic, which was little bit different from other projects. We visited a lot of intersting places. For example: Visiting of governor of Kayseri, Museums in Kayseri, Kapuzbasi waterfalls, Parachute jumping at Talas Parachute area which was amazing and unforgettable experience. We had also one day off when we travelled to Cappadoccia. All group activities was focused to racism and xenofobia. We tried find solutions for every task as well. Presentation of our results allowed us to practice English, it was really good for improving our presentation skills and move our level a little bit higher! One of my favourite aktivity was making of short film about xenofobia.

Moreover, we experienced quite a lot from other cultures. Every evening we had cultural night: Italian, Greek, Slovakian, Turkish and Estonian. We also had opportunity to present something about Czech Republic, cooked some traditional Czech dishes and danced traditional dances. For me it was such a beautiful experience to saw these cultures and tasted traditional food.

Considering it all in all, this project had something special in itself. Maybe it was because of beautiful turkish nature, maybe because of amazing people but I am pretty sure that in this project we travelled the most places than in any other projects. Experiences and memories from this project will be unforgettable. I fell in love with this Turkish nature and culture on this project. I am so thankfull that I could see that many amazing places. What is glorious is the cooperation between nations, realizing that the xenofobical problems and racism are basically the same and the most important thing is the fact that every individual can do something to make the situation better. My favourite moment of the project was when we arrived to waterfalls, I have never saw such a beautiful nature. For all of us this was only the beginning. Now, when we are back home we can try to realize our ideas and be happy if any of them will come true. We can start with creating a lot of beautiful things or we can use education as the most powerful weapon to change the world. Everything is up to us!

I am sure that I can thank you on behalf of the entire Czech team. Because without EYCB we wouldn’t have this opportunity. We wouldn’t see Cappadoccia and meet such and amazing human beings. Right now I am so thankful for friends I found there.. I am so glad for this opportunity.
Thank you EYCB.
