Training course Something new took place in a community house of foundation Olde Vechte in Ommen Netherlands. Facilitators and youth workers from different countries came to share their knowledge and experience and to learn and improve their facilitation skills.
Program was filled with many movement excercises and other reflection and self focusing activities. In free time we entertained ourselves with dance, exploring the surrounding nature and town and games. We were taking part in care of the community house, in exchange, voulounteers cooked delicious meals for us.
Course was very intensive and focused on our invidual needs, inconvinient situationsthat we encounter in our area of work. We got a chance to work in different groups and create activities for each other. The main aim was for us to search for answers on our own, learn from other people and mainly from ourselves. We were led to think about our approach, our own individual strenghts and weeknesses.
I left the course being a more confident person, believing in my facilitation skills and creativity. I proved to myself I am able to face different and unknown kinds of challenges and always ready to try “Something new”.
