Project report:

Turning green project in Turkey brought many great and positive experiences. Four members of Turkish group welcomed on Friday 22 November 2013 a six-member group of participants from Czech Republic, Croatia, Romania and Italy. The project lasted 7 days and took place in a small, but beautiful Egirdir, which with the altitude to 900 meters above sea level, surrounded by Tavr Mountain and with a wonderful 50km long lake of the same name, must amaze every single visitor.

As the name suggests, the project was focused on national agriculture and kind of movement towards environmental “green” ideas. During the stay we had the opportunity to visit the apple farm; we could find out how Turks produces oil of roses and also try typical products of this oil. One of the nicest moments was planting saplings, which can grow in Egirdir for many years – maybe one day we’ll look at the tree planted by usJ. The organizers have also prepared a trip to the nearby Isparta with evening surprise in the form of excellent concert by local band. Regarding accommodation and food, everything was very nice. If I had to pinpoint weaknesses, I would mention the organizers gap in time management, changes in schedule of activities and gender imbalance – only two nonlocal guys.

If I had to summarize the project, it was a great, rewarding experience for which I am very grateful.
