Project report:
From 23rd of April till 2nd of May we attended a youth exchange Project in Adana, Turkey.
UNITY through Diversity, we have met participant from Germany, Romania, Lativa, Turkey, Makdonia and Czech. We have learned about many aspects during the project,
for example, we have experienced a discussion session where the facilitator made us stand up and they draw a line, where they would say a sentence/statement and In case we strongly agree with it we would go to the far right, if we strongly disagree we would go to the far left, and if we are 50/50 we would stay in the middle, and the facilitator facilitator would ask some of us about why we agree and the debate goes on, through out the debate some people would change their mind and change their position.
another nice acitivty we had is Parliament debate. The participant were split into 6 teams,
there were 3 topics.
each 2 teams were assigned to a topic, one time is assigned to be defined this topic and the other one to counter that topic. We had some time to prepare, and the debate was timed and moderator, as if we are in the parliament, at the end the other 4 teams would vote to which time of the 2 had a better performance.
one of the nice activates is culture night, where each country had the chance to present its culture in different ways. Some used Kahoot tool, or PPT. or even shared some traditional dances and some tasty snacks or drinks.
a funny thing happened during the project, a wedding took place at the same Hotel and we joined them for a bit and danced and had fun 😀
it was lovely to dive in a new country where it has totally different culture than Czech and experience everything we did, one day we had a city tour and we visited the second biggest Mosque in Turkey, we were stunned by the outstanding artichture and atmoshpre, many people are afraid of Trukey because of its Muslim majority, but we would like to say that it was safe and welcoming, and since the project we can’t wait to come back to Turkey once again !
