Project report:
Bonjour! Welcome to Issor, a small village in the French Pyrenees, where I had the chance to join a project called From Vision to Action: Quality in Erasmus+ projects. I was there with four other Czech participants, and we were a part of an international group of 23 youth workers from nine different countries. The project was organised by a French Association La Villa and led by two experienced trainers Linda and Marco.
The programme was dynamic and engaging from the beginning. Linda and Marco prepared interactive workshops, games and discussions that always kept everyone involved and focused. Thanks to the activities, we quickly got to know each other very well, which created a safe and supportive space within the group.
We began by opening the topic of inclusion. Together, we looked at power relations and how to approach social challenges within our communities. One pf the practices was eurythmy as a way to express real life problems in societies. It pushed us out of our comfort zones and helped us understand inclusion not only in theory, but as something we can express.
In the next days we focused on sustainability. To raise our awareness of sustainability we tried to strengthen our connection with nature through individual tasks outdoors. In the next activities we learned about climate change and the necessity to act green.
The last days were focused on project writing. We learned the first steps to turn our ideas into real initiatives and we discussed the importance of networking in project making. Thanks to Linda and Marco, who adapted the programme to meet our needs, everyone learned what they found most useful. Everyone had the space to ask questions, share ideas and some even the chance to try facilitating some workshops.
Overall I would say this project was a unique experience, not only because of the well organised and high quality programme, but also because of the strong connections woth each other and nature. This experience taught us new teaching practices, gave us new perspectives and helped us form meaningful friendships.
