Project report:

„Volunteers are not paid – not because they are worthless, but because they are priceless.“ This sentence represents the main topic of a youth exchange project called Vision of My Europe that took place in Struga, Macedonia.

The project gathered participants from Spain, the Czech Republic, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Hungary, Serbia and Macedonia with a group leader for each country. The main aim of this project was a promotion of youth participation on local, national, international level through volunteerism as a tool for development. Not only because an involvement in volunteering extends social cohesion, but it also gives an opportunity to gain skills and knowledge further applicable in future employment.

The participants were asked to take photographs regarding volunteerism, to select the best ones afterwards and used them in a process of creating a calendar of volunteerism for 2014. The youth exchange Vision of My Europe enriched all participants through sharing different ideas, learning from each other, working in international teams as well having fun during intercultural nights were nations presented themselves. Those ten days spent in area of scenic lake Ohrid was lovely time spent for all.
