Project report:

This March, I had the incredible opportunity to spend a week participating in an Erasmus+ project organized by the Romanian NGO COSI. The project, called Voice and Action 2.0, was the second initiative by COSI focused on the world of youth work—an area that broadly encompasses working with young people across various sectors. While I already had some experience in this field, this project introduced me to new skills and valuable insights that I hadn’t encountered before.

The project took place in the charming town of Bușteni, located in the breathtaking Carpathian Mountains, just a short train ride from the Transylvanian city of Brașov. The stunning scenery, the flawless organization by COSI, and the dedication of their volunteers combined to create a truly inspiring atmosphere that lasted throughout the entire week.

Every day, alongside 30 other participants, I engaged in creative workshops led by our skilled trainer, Andrei. These sessions were designed to raise awareness about youth work and encourage young people to become more active in their communities and public life. The schedule was full from morning until early evening, with just enough breaks for snacks and a well-deserved two-course lunch.

Evenings were no less exciting. After dinner (which always ended with a delicious dessert), we gathered for intercultural evenings—relaxed, informal sessions where participants introduced their home countries in fun and engaging ways.

One of the highlights of the entire project was creating a video campaign aimed at motivating young people to take a more active role in society. This final challenge put our newly acquired skills to the test and was a fitting culmination of the lessons we had learned throughout the week.

Another unforgettable part of the experience was a full-day excursion to the historic center of Brașov. There, we visited Kastel Youth, a local nonprofit that serves as a versatile community hub for people of all ages. We also got the chance to explore Brașov’s rich history through a guided tour of the city’s museum, housed in the old town hall.

But beyond the knowledge and experience that will undoubtedly serve me well both professionally and personally, this project gave me something even more valuable—connections. Over the course of the week, I formed friendships that I believe will last, and I’m certain that I’ll cross paths with some of these incredible people again in the future.

To wrap things up, I’d like to express my sincere gratitude to EYCB, the sending organization that made my participation possible, and to COSI for their outstanding coordination and for giving us seven unforgettable (and incredibly educational) days in Romania.
